At our December 2021 meeting, the Tzedek Chicago board voted unanimously to recommend amending our core values statement to state explicitly that anti-Zionism (rather than “non-Zionism”) should be articulated as a core value of our congregation.

Since this would be an important, impactful step for our community, the board also agreed unanimously that it should be processed, discussed and ultimately put to a membership vote. To this end, we are planning to hold a series of three mini town hall meetings via Zoom, with the goal of an online membership vote in the spring.

Please note that voting on the proposed amendment and participating in these meetings is open to Tzedek Chicago members only. As such, those interested in joining us for our town halls will need to log in to their ShulCloud accounts before registering for the event.
