Rosh Hashana Family Program

In-Person at Lake View Presbyterian Church

Join Tzedek Chicago families for in person learning and play during Rosh Hashana morning services. Facilitated by Aviva Stein, adults and children will sing, create, and play while learning about the holiday. Children of all ages are welcome.

This program takes place for one hour during during Tzedek Chicago’s service. When the program has ended, children are welcome to hang out in a kid-friendly space where we’ll have art supplies, books, and room to hang out.

Tzedek Chicago will not offer formal adult supervision or babysitting during High Holiday services. All adults will be responsible for appropriate supervision of their children. This may include caregivers and community members volunteering their time during services. Tzedek staff will not be able to bring kids to the bathroom or change diapers.

Registration is recommended but not required for our High Holiday family programs.

Covid Policy for Tzedek Chicago High Holiday Family Programs:

Due to the challenges of children effectively masking, we do not require families to wear masks at child-centered spaces at Tzedek Chicago. We understand that many if not all of the children in our family program space attend school in-person and unmasked, and that children and the people in their lives often exhibit minor symptoms of illness.

To mitigate risk, if a member of your household has a minor cold symptom, such as a runny nose or cough, we ask that each family member test before arriving and diligently mask with a KN95 throughout the program. If you or a member of your household is experiencing more than one cold symptom, such as a sore throat and a runny nose, please stay home.

Our current practice is subject to change along with the evolving needs of our community.
